Grey Sheep
“When I went through $uicideboy$' discography back in 2021, "Grey Sheep EP" was one I never really did get into. It was decent initially, but I didn't understand why I didn't like it as much as other projects like "YUNGDEATHLILLIFE". In the years since, I finally began to understand why that is. A bulk of this EP has songs that start off kind of strong but end up faltering by the end. In some cases, it's the backing production. The beat drops get me hooked, but struggles to maintain my interest, mostly due to it being overall bland in comparison to previous releases. In other cases, it's due to both Ruby da Cherry and $crim. It's not so much their lyricism drags this down, but rather their vocal inflections not really matching up to the beat. It's probably just me, though. However, there are some amazing songs on here. "Everest" is one song that I didn't care much initially but appreciate now because it lowkey fits the aesthetic of the EP cover. The one thing that's remained constant between 2021 and 2025 for me is how fire "Second Coming" and "Oracle" is. If anything, these three songs help this project from being still being amazing, but I'd be lying if I said it's one of their memorable ones.”

Now the Moon's Rising
“I just want to speak my unpopular opinion within the $uicideboy$ fanbase first. While I do love "Paris", it's a pretty overrated song at this point. Glad I've got that out of the way. Anyway, for a twenty-minute mixtape, I'm still somehow wanting to get more from $uicideboy$. Next to "YUNGDEATHLILLIFE", this is pretty consistent and concise. Each track doesn't overstay its welcome by being too long, and $crim and Ruby both deliver mostly enjoyable (yet sometimes cringeworthy) verses throughout the ten tracks. The dark and depressing vibe heard here crafted by $crim is the reason why I can't help but come back to this mixtape often. "Can of Worms", "Evolution (I Love That Movie)", and "To Have and Have Not" are among my favorites on here, but this entire mixtape is worth playing from top to bottom. My only gripe is that I wish the project was a bit longer. Either way, it's an underground banger to me.”

THY KINGDOM COME
“As a borderline diehard $uicideboy$ fan since 2018 (shoutout I Want to Die in New Orleans), it took me way longer than expected to get around to THY KINGDOM COME. I didn’t hear it until the day before Grey Day 2025 in Phoenix. Honestly, it comes down to being too busy to be depressed—and maybe slowly growing out of their newer sound. I lean more toward their 2014–2015 era, which makes it wild that I actually liked the lead single “Self-Inflicted.” THY KINGDOM COME feels different from past projects. The Boy$ still touch on depression, but it’s no longer the main focus. Ruby da Cherry and $crim keep their usual themes, but instead of ending in pure despair, there’s a sense of hope for better days. It’s ironic given their image, but it works. No verses really stand out, but they deliver what you expect. Production-wise, this is some of their most diverse work yet. They update their sound while experimenting more. “Napoleon” blends New Orleans bounce with a modern rap feel—I was indifferent at first, but hearing it live changed that. “Chain Breaker” leans into a Pi’erre Bourne-type sound, similar to “Whole Lotta Grey,” and they slide on it easily. For once, I didn’t know what to expect from each track, and I enjoyed that. Is this their best work? Not close—bias included. But it’s still a solid album, and it’s good to hear how much better Ruby and $crim are doing, with that growth showing in the music. It feels more for newer fans, but after Grey Day 2025, I can’t be mad at it. G59 ’til the grave.”

THY WILL BE DONE
“THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE. Going into this, I already have this conceived notion that I already won't think this will be perfect for me due to myself leaning more toward their earlier work (2018 and before). I still enjoyed "THY KINGDOM COME", though, so in my mind, I'm hoping "THY WILL BE DONE" will be damn near the same as that, right? Well, as soon as I started playing the opener "Leviticus", I instantly got the same vibes that are reminiscent of an older banger "Exodus". The album starts off with an aggressive moshpit track that I never expected to be fire, but it set the tone for my experience. After "2009 Reggie Bush" and "Angel Grove" (with honorable mention "BLOODSWEAT"), in my mind I was hoping for all ten tracks to have this hardcore rap sound that propelled them to where they are at today. By the time I reach "Whatever Floats Your Boat Will Definitely Sink My Ship", that's when I realized that $uicideboy$ have to appease to their newer fans as well, and this track might be the most blatantly obvious one. While not bad and I wouldn't mind hearing it live, I can't lie and act like it's good when in actuality it's just okay at best. Not only that, but I've been a fan of some of their melodic songs, but the ones on here are a notch below what I've heard before. Truthfully, though, while "MSY", "Old Addicts, New Habits", and "Frenzy" are good tracks, they help make up the least interesting and memorable part of the album for me, as I lowkey struggled to enjoy the album's middle portion. The album returns true to form with "Hypernormalisation" and closer "Fuck Ups", and holy fuck, these might be the best one-two punch to finish a $uicideboy$ album in a while. The production, the vibe, the intensity: everything is peak here for me. Not a bad Christmas present, if I say so myself.”
