DANGEROUS SUMMER

“Yeat is an artist I enjoy a bit and whose music I really check out when he releases new music. I'm not one of those diehard fans of his who lives to rage every second (my bones partially won't let me do that anymore), but he's had some decent projects since I discovered his music sometime in 2022. Normally, though, Yeat does very little to experiment with new styles in his music. "DANGEROUS SUMMER" is very different from almost everything else he's released so far because there's a lot of variety on here. First off, I'm glad this "EP" is only eleven tracks long because it allows Yeat less album runtime to do what he wants, kind of making him a bit constrained in a sense. I have to respect Yeat for at least taking some time to craft his most "locked in" project to date. Lyrically speaking, there is a bit more substance to it than usual (although still not like "lyrical miracle..." shit), but what caught me off-guard is how Yeat sounds more coherent on his verses. That made me want to continue checking out every song instead of losing interest, mostly because I'm still stuck like, "Damn, he couldn't have done this sooner?". As for the EP's sound, Yeat decided to make sure each track sonically sounds different from one another. The end result is that we have a generally consistent project that isn't too terrible, even with its few low points ("2TONE"). "OH I DID" and "IM YEAT" are two of my standout favorites on here. Yeat's "DANGEROUS SUMMER" is a step into the right direction to see his evolution as an artist while also staying true to himself and his come up.”

“Très déçu… je ne sais même pas quoi dire. Aucun son ne m’a vraiment marqué. Peut-être le seul à souligner serait le feat avec Kylie Jenner et je n’aurais jamais pensé dire ça un jour. Je ne m’attendais pas à grand-chose, je sais qu’il essaie parfois des choses, mais là… c’est clairement oubliable.”

“Overall I enjoyed this album, while being slightly underwhelmed. Would’ve liked to hear more aggression, was a little tame for my liking. Still some banger songs however which pushed the album to a 7.3, including features from the likes of Julia Wolf, Elton John, and Joji. Overall a solid project from Yeat. Fav song of the album- Griddle feat. Don Toliver OR Back Home feat. Joji”

“Almost zero misses. This album had me thinking it was cooked jut from a snippet and a feature list. But all year had to do is let. The. Music. Talk. This junk was some of the best work yeat had made by far. Without a doubt this is Yeats best album. Don’s feature isn’t his best it still goes hard on Griddle. Went wrong is a hard hitter and extremely beautiful. Kid cudi voice transition from yeat to his voice was insaneeeeee genuinely so good.”
