the take
This album is no skips for me. Obsessed with Nas’ lyricism. The only con of this album is the feeling that hits once you realize Nasir was 16 when he started writing Illmatic (I really got to get my shi together). I’ve found myself rewinding some of the tracks on this album several times out of sheer shock: the way this man’s mind works is out of this world, and no, I’m not being overdramatic. Memory Lane takes me back to Singapore summer of 22✨✨
