the take
Sm singable songs on this one. This album captures that late 80s-early90s new wave vibe so well, and has some of the band’s greatest hits. Per usual, the tracks on this one are centered around a variety of vastly different topics, whether that be sensational media, famine, old folk stories, inappropriate relationships, the passage of time, etc. There is no overarching theme for this album, and that’s what I like about it the most. This is also one of the band’s biggest strengths: the songs are woven together purely through instrumentals and vibe. Stewart Copeland’s drums on this one really shine.
