From heartfelt acoustic tunes to 80s-themed anthems, SMBDY ELSE covers a spectrum of genres to both engage with multiple audiences and also explore his ever-adapting sound. Born in the Great Plains of South Dakota, music has forever been a part of his life in one way or another. As many artists do, he describes himself as a "bit of a black sheep" when it comes to both his music and personality. "Fellow artists—whether that be musicians, painters, videographers, etc.—have always been my crowd; however, in my neck of the woods, it's rare to pursue the arts as aggressively as I have. It's a shame, really. Truthfully, that might be why I've had a bit of an identity dilemma for much of my young life; singing, rapping, producing in an environment that treats such passions as childish hobbies has been.. well.. to look at the bright side, it's been incrimental in shaping who I am. So, I'm thankful for that."
